your background for your website looks like it came from geocities circa 1998, too.

is that font in comic sans or something similar?

Your home page needs a lot of work. Remove the car from the logo and it will look a lot better. The home page sentence structure does not make sense

Yes, these are the kind of things i was wanting critique on.. the logo is minor compared to the actual structure of the website.

some of it was copy paste from a temp site and i havent had time to go over all of it. i will re write it tonight. i might copy paste what you wrote
facebook on the home page? sounds ok.

problem with pictures is.. i dont have any that are worthy.. all i have right now is a blackberry storm -.-
ive been trying to get someone with a camera to snap some shots and as soon as i do, i will put them up.

Naloxone. yeah it was san serif or something like that. dreamweaver puts your fonts in a family of 3 different fonts and i didnt know how to change it. but after you mentioned it, it looks pretty silly, so ive changed it until i can make it exactly what i want.

Personally, I like it without the car, but I like simple and clean logos. One other recommendation I have for is change your links. I do not like the brown background color. I would just make it 100% transparent, and center your logo. As for your links, I would recommend grouping all your prices into one, so it leaves room for a photo gallery of your work. maybe something like this:
    - Home
    - Photos
    - Services and Prices
    - Additional Services
    - Contacts

Maybe also offer a 10% coupon on your site.

well i did resize the car so it doesnt look like a stretched gt500

i was thinking of those things..The link text is hard to read when its transparent, so i added the background. I will make buttons for the links so it will look better, then make it transparent. (also the background is orange )

I suppose i could make a price page that had its own navbar.. Now I am back to the learning stages. google =dreamweaver inception pages within a page within pages.

10% WTF, this aint no charity j/k

Ok just my two cents. I have created a trillion websites and logos in my day. Not that they are very great but here are my thoughts.

The logo is pretty bad. Like everyone has said before less is more. Mixing two crazy fonts together usually end up badly. You could go with one crazy font and something classic like bank gothic or helvetica. If you do go with a crazy font make sure it's a good one not something that looks like comic sans. Like you said you are learning and there is nothing wrong with trying to learn but when it comes to business let someone with experience help.

The website also needs to go. It looks like my first angelfire website. It looks basic and unprofessional. A good website will go a long way in helping your appearance and look professional. Would you show up to do a job with a pick up and a garden hose? NO? Why not? Because you would look ghetto. The website is a potential client first impression. Once again get someone to help or pay someone to do it. Graphic Designers are a dime a dozen and like they say it takes money to make money. If you don't have much money I would hold some kind of contest on a huge form. Say 50 bucks to the winner who creates the best logo.

Right now the website looks like it's going to steal my credit card or give me spyware. If you are set on doing it yourself look into some dream weaver templates. You can get a ton for free online. Maybe even your hosting company has something you can use like joomla or wordpress

Congrats on starting your own business and good luck with the changes.

Well that is one thing about doing it myself, im learning. If the mobile detail doesnt work out, i will be a few steps closer to getting into the IT field.

What kind of things make it look so unprofessional? if you have built so many, you have a few ideas on what i should change? preferably without building a whole new site. (although i eventually will because the first time for something is never the greatest.)
I know getting some pics up of my work will make a huge difference, but like i said, i have no decent camera at the moment, and im not very good at using photoshop to fix pictures.
i have some friends and family that are supposed to be helping on the site, but you know how that goes
if you have some input on things to change it would be really helpful. im going to make the navbar buttons today, then i have to work over the weekend.

use : "We understand your vehicles get dirty, after all that's why you look to us! However, excessively dirty interior or exterior of vehicles, including mud, may result in an extra charge."

also you said price is based on a mid size sedan and then you list everything bigger, what if i have a compact and want to use your service?

good points.. the hyphen looks way better than the asterisk.
I didnt really think about the compact situation until you mentioned it now. im gunna have to do some research on that one.
might start with compact prices and move up from there.. just got the CS6 master collection installed so i have alot more things to work with.
I will make these changes you posted in a bit.

or you can just put "discounts available for smaller cars"

since you wont know if you get a coupe, a hatch, or a smart car, you can adjust as necessary without needing to make a list

I agree with everyone else that blue bubble backround has to go. It reminds me of all the Everquest geocities sites i made back in the day. Get something a little more subtle.

I'd go to www.99designs.com and start a logo contest. If you plan on using the logo for more than just your website it will be worth the cost

  17. #37
I have a plan for the background, i will let you guys know when its up and you can let me know what you think

also $300 is really fkn steep for a logo

has a baller ass point about using the words "may" should incorporate that word everywhere you can. its proven that people look over the word may and dont think of it where they will "will result in an extra charge" and it just puts their mood negative. when i did sales, May was our friend you threw that into everything. its a sketchy word but shit works solid.
